All in one v2.8 kit help

Postby hchriste » Thu Feb 05, 2009 7:46 pm

I have build the v2.8 kit by Synthex. It seems to be working just fine. I get the welcome screen. I can browse the menues. It registers fine with windows. Superior 2 accepts it just fine. BUT. all the inputs are going bonanza. Meaning they are all in a constant 127 level. And all pads in Superior is playing in a pace any Death Metal drummer do in his dreams. What is going on?? I cannot find any shorts or deslike.

Disconnect it and measure resistance between the ground and each of pins 37-40 of Atmega.

Is anything connected to the inputs?
Power it up while holding the key RIGHT pressed. Still the same problem?

I have nothing connected to the inputs.
I tried holding down key right, and only difference it did make was that the LED on the board did not light up. It does so under normal power up.

Do VU meters show activity on all channels?
Are you sure you have installed 74HC4851 ICs correctly into their sockets, i.e. pin 1 of an IC to pin 1 of a socket?

Yes they seem to be on all channels.
I meassured VCC on all 4 74HC4851. 5V on pin 16, witch is turned against the input connector. Ass far as I can see this is the correct placement in the socket.
