The firmware update in MDM on Mac OS X now fails for me as well. Apparently one second after a MIDI USB device is connected, Mac OS X sends one MIDI message (don't know why it does it) to the MIDI device, the bootloader cannot recognise it and resets MegaDrum.
As a workaround I added a Mac OS X version of mdfwupdate utility in Updating firmware with protected bootloader. Please, note a step there which is marked in red - it's there to workaround this feature/bug in Mac OS X.

I type the following command in the terminal:
/Applications/Megadrum/mdfwupdate/MacOS/mdfwupdate megadrum1284_56_20111213.bin

and the terminal says:
Error: File 'megadrum1284_56_20111213.bin' not found.

The .bin file is in the folder where the mdfwupdate file is.

The whole terminal command is:
macb-proclausNEU2:~ clausfeldmann$ /Applications/Megadrum/mdfwupdate/MacOS/mdfwupdate megadrum1284_56_20111213.bin
MegaDrum firmware update utility

Error: File 'megadrum1284_56_20111213.bin' not found.

What is wrong with the command ? Where must the .bin file be ?

Without much explanation do it like this (if both mdfwupdate and the .bin file are in /Applications/Megadrum/mdfwupdate/MacOS/):

Code: Select all
/Applications/Megadrum/mdfwupdate/MacOS/mdfwupdate /Applications/Megadrum/mdfwupdate/MacOS/megadrum1284_56_20111213.bin

or:
Code: Select all
cd /Applications/Megadrum/mdfwupdate/MacOS
./mdfwupdate megadrum1284_56_20111213.bin
