It's been a year since I released an ARM version of MegaDrum and, even though I rarely post news on the main web page, I constantly improve MegaDrum firmware by adding new features, fixing bugs or improving old features. If you're frequent on the MegaDrum forum then you probably know of all the latest changes but here is the summary of main changes for the past year:
- Major improvement to HiHat pedal/controller handling for pedals with narrow signal range, e.g. Roland VH-11/12.
- Made all Curves custom. All 16 Curves can now be modified.
- Added a ChickThrsh pedal setting. Chick threshold level is now configurable.
- Added support for Custom Config names.
- Bug fixes for handling 3 zone cymbals, both Yamaha and Roland types.
- Added support for disabling Bell choking on 3way Roland style cymbals.
- Added a new Misc setting "AltNoteChoking". When set to Yes, AltNote is used for cymbals choking instead of Aftertouch.
- Other bug fixes and internal improvements.
And of course I also constantly update MegaDrum Manager (MDM) to support all latest firmware features. You may know that due to some changes in Oracle Java I decided to switch distribution of MDM from Java WebStart to OS specific packages. I will now post notifications of latest released MDM versions here on the main web page. Incidently I just released a new version 20140421 which you can now download.
