high level very low

Postby chain » Wed Mar 19, 2014 1:30 pm

Hi,
I have been reading various posts and trying out diferente settings for my pads and have noticed even when I set the gain levels at 8 the high levels are very low...

One exemple is my pcy135. Even with gain at 8 the high level is still around 190. This means that even when I decrease the threshold and dynamic levels the megadrum does not detect light hits.

Another exemple are my 682 drum triggers that are known to be very hot for the megadrum but mine are too cold.

I have tested these triggers and pcy135 on alesis trigger IO and they work really well in detecting all the hits even the softer ones, rolls etc.

I have bought this megadrum in second hand, maybee something is wrong with it?

Thanks
chain

So what high level do you have on the pcy135?

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Maybe the previous owner installed resistors inside the module. Open it and take a look inside.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

1. Inputs 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 with a precision rectifier (Positional sensing addon if present) have less sensitivity compared to regular inputs and Yamaha cymbals are known to be quite "cool" so they shouldn't be used in such inputs (and there is no point really).
2. Yamaha cymbals have a timpot built-in with which you can increase/decrease their output signal levels.

I turned the trimpot on the cymbal and it worked Dimitri!
Now my high level is 500 on my pcy135 and it detects all light hits :-)
Now I just need to get the three zone working :-)
Thanks Dimitri and all the other users that tried to help
:-)
