Atmega not remembering settings

Postby Narbicus » Tue Nov 18, 2014 3:20 pm

Got a strange problem.

Unit has stopped remembering settings. At first it stopped loading my config file automatically and i would have to go to load config and do it each time, even after sucessfully saving with autoload config set to yes. I would then switch it off and on again and it would Load and work correctly as usual but after a few hours the same thing would happen and i would have to repeat the process.
I had only 2 configs stored - 'SD2' for slot 1 and 'Superior' on slot 2 with slots 3+4 untouched or default.
As an experiment i loaded slot 4 which loaded ok, but then went to load 'SD2' and they had disapeared...

I have tried to interface it with MDM with no luck, the app will not read from the slots. The midi will open but i cannot send or get any settings. Program will freeze up and stop working. I have checked cables etc. but no luck finding an answer.

Could this be a faulty memory chip?

I guess your Atmega1284 is without extended EEPROM so there is no separate memory chip.

I would suggest you to check AutoLoadConf right after you powered up and it didn't load settings.

You mean MDM never worked?

Yes, without extended EEPROM. I bought a basic kit from you about 2 months ago now.

After loading my config, i double checked AutoLoadConf was set to yes, and saved again after that to make sure. Switched it off for a few secs and it would operate as usual. When left for a time, the settings are lost.

I know it sounds crazy but this is whats happening.

MDM was working fine until this happened. I have several save files and backups of my settings but as i say, i cannot connect without problems now.

EDIT: For whatever reason, MDM is working for me again. I had another attempt tonight at reloading settings and it worked.
