Today with the switch wires swapped so that resistor is on edge the ride input on MD works correctly including choke!! with these settings. Now going back to hhat input to test

Success with edge bow and bell triggering as they should. I would have thought I visited these settings when testing earlier but evidently not. Like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Goedrum 13" 3 zone cymbal working as hihat.

Only thing left now is choke. When I squeeze the rim, unlike the ride for some reason, it machine guns notes instead of sending aftertouch.

Here are my settings. Any suggestions with the choke.

Dmitri and Ignotus thanks for baring with me, much appreciated

Regards
Ben

Just to point out Ben, that the blue font in MDM means it has different settings to MD. This may explain your erratic results.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Thanks, yes thats because when I was sending all to MD at about 94% sysex would timeout, it would seem to send, but in order for sysex to be green OK I had to close and open midi, causing these apparent differences, but they would be the same since I have been tweaking with live updates on.

MDM/MD still isnt behaving ideally yet. I have usb over ethernet extenders but I also tried bypassing them and going direct, still the same sysex timeout when sending a setup. Maybe the buffering isnt rght and there is an overflow or underflow.

Is this a common issue when sending all and saving to slots? How often do you get sysex timeouts?

So the next cymbal I want to get will be a 3zone ride, but its not going to be a Goedrum, more likely a cym15svr or pcy155s or alesis dmpad 16".

Given that this was really touchy to get switching working and now Id like to get another brand of cymbal, how is the AllSwBow and AllSwBell calibration going to handle two different brands of switch with different resistors?

1) Does MD handle different brands of piezo/switch/switch with different characteristics like resistors etc?

I'd just dial them in on an individual basis, I don't reckon there should be any problems.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

On a day to day basis, never. Only when I've unplugged things for downloading stuff I find you may have to reset the midi ports.

What notes is it sending? Can you post screenshots of raw MIDILog when you press the switch and when you release the switch? Are you sure you have not set AltNoteChoking to Yes?
