Is there anything obviously wrong with using an old CD-ROM cable? I'm happy to buy the right thing if there'sa more sure thing. I just had several of these cables lying around so thought I'd put it to use.

I use flat cables, although brand new (not from IDE cables) so they should be fine provided these cables are multicore in each wire.

I've ordered flat cable and headers. Will report back in. Cross your fingers for success.

It worked!!!!!

New cable. Resoldered. Carefully checked impedance at every step. Perfect triggering!
