chassis sizing?

Postby ronyd » Thu Aug 25, 2016 2:50 pm

Hi everyone, Dimitri gave me the main dimensions (about 100mm x 50mm).

Anyone building or built either the 32 or 56 input module, would like to hear what you decided on chassis size?

Use whatever you like, I saw someone used Lego! The important thing is to make sure you have enough room for the jack sockets.

I agree with airflamesred: the number and size of input jacks determine the minimum size of the chassis. Have a look at the boxes that Dmitri has used for his kits:

32-input module

56- input module

One thing I found helpful was to obtaining the mechanical drawings of the chassis and jacks I wanted to use. I printed them out in actual size so I could experiment with different layouts. For me, layouting out the rear panel and wiring up the jacks was the most time consuming part of building my two MegaDrum modules.
