Set All Edge Switches,Set All Bell Switches Issues

Postby tobykea » Wed Apr 19, 2017 9:18 am

Hi all, wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue. I have previously successfully set all edges and bell switches to work properly and triggering the correct notes as per the config in use at the time.

Recently after upgrading to the latest firmware, although I did experience this a little with older versions but to a much lesser degree, I'm finding it very difficult to set the 3 zone cymbal notes reliably using the "set all edge", "set all Bell" function on Megadrum.

For example, when setting up "set all edges" to "yes" and then "working", hits on the edge of my Yamaha cymbal give me a Note=0 despite actually being programmed with a non zero note number. It will not spit out the correct note after many many hits. The hihat is similar, most of the time I'm getting 0 as a note in the MIDI log View.

This has all previously worked perfectly, same cymbal hardware etc, only now I'm finding this set all switches functionality to not work well.
Anyone else experiencing this? I'm wondering if there is something obvious I'm missing.
Regards,
Toby

So is just 'Set All Edge Switches,Set All Bell Switches Issues' or if it is an issue with triggering even after manually adjusting Thresholds?

I saw the post from another chap having trouble getting the edge set on his Roland VH11 pedal and so downloaded the latest MDM software like it was advised there.
My problem too went away with this new MDM software so all is ok now and back to normal.
Loving the extra hihat articulation available now. When used with Native Instruments Studio Drummer it is indeed a formidable result!
Cheers,
Toby
