Anybody up for some problem solving ?

Postby marcjwebbmusic » Mon Jul 20, 2015 4:58 pm

Ok so after putting my boards aside. I have now decided that rather than collect dust I should prob carry on. I get a strange dim on the screen and I know there is still communication with a computer as it goes Bing Bing on Windows and shows in my audio midi on my Mac.

The screen dimming part only happens after a fair while of no power and it is only when first plugged in.

Is anyone up for helping me trying to diagnose a fault ?

Kind regards

Marc

So it is a complete DIY I understand. Than I'd recommend to see question 7 in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=440

Brill. I shall have a read. Is there anyway I can see if there is full communication with a company ? Another of the issues is that the led doesn't blink anymore when there is activity on the inputs, I wondered weather or not it was something wrong with the main chip ( at mega one )

I understand you have un-encrypted old firmware. In this case you can try to check communication between MegaDrum and your computer with http://www.megadrum.info/configtool/

It's java based so should have worked everywhere but OS X Java MIDI implementation has a bug which causes Sysex communication to fail. MDM has a third party library packaged-in which addresses this bug and implements a workaround. MCT is very old/unsupported and I doubt it will work properly on Mac.

No.

and where is the up to date price list on the current offers?

Thank you for the links.

So with the minimal kit is that only controllable from the computer with mdm for adjusting curves and stuff?

Also

I couldn't see a price for minimal arm based board on its own ( might just be me )

And lastly.

I have a feeling the problem with mine is the main ic is this something you can offer replacements for ? So that way I know if I get it working and some thing goes wrong later down the line I can still get stuff for it.
