thats why i dont want the edge as a hit trigger zone
Here I stand in the falling rain
There is no joy inside these tears
I see the world through a twisted and bitter stare
To be where I have been... to see what I have seen
Is it a dream?
Or can I believe...

Set HighLevel and the Curve on the edge zone identical to the bow zone and the velocity on the edge zone will be the same.

For a piezo/switch pad/cymbal the signal level is read from the head/bow piezo. If HighLevel and Curve on the head/bow and the rim/edge are the same than for the same piezo signal the produced velocity will be the same on both zones.

Hi!
I'm asking here because the topic is suitable for my problem!
Because of specific of our performances I can only use Ableton Live. Unfortunately it does not support aftertouch. Although the users have been requesting this feature for years, it is still not implemented. There is a slim chance they'll do it.
I also like the Mixosaurus Kontakt library, but It also doesn't support aftertouch to choke cymbals.

Idea: setting alt-note to a negative value turn it to the choke note, as I haven't seen instruments that provide an alternative sounds for cymbals.

This is similar to viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2486 in that MegaDrum itself already provides all needed info for choking and in a kind of standard way.
If I do it as you suggest it will be like a 'workaround' which will work with some VSTs but won't with others.

Why? My idea is quite opposite! When it's implemented megadrum will work with all VST plugins! Those supporting aftertouch will use it, others will use choke notes. Even if only note-chokes are implemented, all VST plugins support it as far as I know. But if all users that want to perform with Ableton Live or use Mixosaurus or alike in other hosts will have to do research on how to do it, install different midi-ox like programs deal with scripting, probably get some delays - I would call it a workaround. I suppose I'm the first who ask for this, but there may be some e-drummers that use Ableton and want to join the community for example. It may be limiting for them.

Can others confirm this? If so, I will implement it.

Please try this firmware version:
megadrum_20140329.zip

Set Retrigger on the Edge input to an odd number. It will change meaning of the Alt Note to a choking note.
Set Alt Note on the Edge input to a choke note number.
