You can only use piezoPiezo pads, as two different signals are needed

Hello Janado,

Put your building plans on hold for a few day's.
I have come up with a different approach on how to build a dual zone drumpad   .

I can already say it has exellent x-talk specifications between the rim and head sensors.
And it is much cheaper and easier to build than the designs with crossbars and rubber ring stuff !
I will post details and pictures in the hardware section this comming weekend :!: ....

Rob

Hi! I know this is an old post, but my doubt is about head/rim shot/cross-stick.

I'm trying to set my snare to achieve rim shot and cross-stick using rim trigger varying how strong I strike the pad. Well, I saw what Dmitri wrote, and it seems to need configure BThreshold, but it's not avaiable for piezo-piezo pads. In this post viewtopic.php?f=3&t=376&p=4730&hilit=cross+stick+rimshot#p4730, there was a guy asking something similar, but the answer was: MegaDrum need MIDI tools to achieve that feature. That was an old post too, so, I don't know if latest updates allow what I want, and have no idea of how to do it. I tried changes in BNote, ABNotes, DualMidPoint, DualMidWidth and others, but couldn't achieve results I was expecting.

If this feature still not avaliable, could anyone suggest me an alternative to configure that three articulations in one pad?

Thanks a lot!

Regards!

The answer from Dmitri was good, you need a midi tool for that to works. A midi input transformer is what you need, you can try MidiConverter3 from Piz midi (http://www.thepiz.org/pizmidi/?p=pizmidi). You have to set this plugin to transform each rim note with velocity above 64 (on any value you want) into another midi note assigned to the rim shot sound.

But I thought Megadrum allows you to get a rim shot note by hitting simultaneously head and rim and a crosstick note by hitting only the rim, am I wrong ? I never try this feature my self but I'm curious to know how good it works.
In fact I made a snare with that feature working on a TD-10 plus cubase, see this vid to check it : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojXcOWung-0, I explain it's functionning on the Vdrum forum (but Vdrums.com has been hacked last week and we still can't use it). Mine works really flawlessly but need Cubase, and an external cross stick device.

You are right. DualMidWidth setting is there exactly for this.

Awsome! Now I understand that function, and really liked! I achieved great results.

Thank so much!
