Trying to understand the schematics

My mistake. Why on earth Dip trace have separate programs for everything. Of course its easy to connect things in schematics editor. I was working in pcb layout. That's also answer if i have license for software . I have full version, which expires in 15 days. I used it couple of times. It has nice drawing abilities, just have to learn how to edit those points on nets. So i dont need help now to make all in one i think.

On top is schematics from digital board and bottom is analogue. I've connected those 2 in one. My question is would i make mistake if i moved R25 in new position like shown with arrow? My guess is no, but its only guess

If you want to combine the digital and analogue board, then yes, you can do it.

If you want to place the R25 (100 ohms) before the two diodes BAT85, it's possible.
These resistors are only for protection against static electricity (for 4051 and for Atmega) !

I had exactly the same question : I started building the analogue board and the digital board on the same strip board...

In this configuration, I guess that resistor R1 to R8 can be removed as there is no analogue connector.

My next question is :
As I'm building a 32 input version (with 4 * 74HC4051N)....that should be future poof (I should still have sufficient room on the strip board to cram in 32 more inputs), I won't use the pins PA-4 to PA-7 of the atmega chip.
So, should I connect a 100 resistor to those pins that I won't use to protect against static electricity anyway ?


On a side note, I'm wondering a few things about the programming cables :
Wouldn't it be better to use regular serie or parallel cables and put the wiring on the digital board/usb board...instead of in the cable....

That way, we wouldn't have to modify the cable.
