Hi Dmitri,

It seems to decrease or eliminate false bells when hitting the bow but is screwing things up when hitting the bell...

If yes, could you consider one thing?

I was working very hard on my snare, I could not get rid of the hotspot in the center; I decided to mount another cone towards the player side to take the velocity info and I thought to use the center cone just for the positional information but, if I set the note to 0 for the center cone input the PS processing ceases as well... So I have to leave an unassigned note there in order to get the PS info but that note is only clogging my sequencer... Of course the secondary cone input has a higher input number than the center cone input ;-)

It's just a suggestion, if you think it makes sense I can open another thread regarding the snare: I even implemented a capacitive sensor to detect the hand on the head in order to switch the head and rim signals to another input in order to get dampened head and crosstick articulations... I was able to handle that via additional hardware :-).... software, I cannot handle...
Have a look at this: https://www.vdrums.com/forum/advanced/diy/1127839-positional-sensing-with-side-mounted-trigger.

I'd be interested in seeing how you made the capacitive sensor.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Hi Ignotus,

I had seen the thread but I'm afraid it's not going to apply in my snare - I barely made the PS working by using the standard recommended configuration...

Aren't you the same user that I have seen on other forums converting acoustic bronze cymbals to electronic?

For the capacitive proximity I ended up using the AT42QT1011 IC - I tested several other possibilities but I could not get reliable results...
I got one of these:
http://www.tme.eu/ro/details/mod-25.z/a ... o-sp-z-oo/
The trick is to reconfigure it to "slow" mode...

I also hat to build an external box that is switching the piezos from the snare to different pairs of inputs on the MegaDrum in order to get different note numbers for different articulations...

Best Regards from Romania

I've made some electronic cymbals using practice cymbals, but not with real ones so I suppose you're thinking about someone else.

I have no background in electronics so that's way over my head. I'd considered trying using an Arduino Nano or something but there's stuff I don't really understand, so parked the idea...
