To be clear, I am connecting to proper port for HH controller? I have tried both of these next to port 1 and I get nothing...

Did you look at back panel layout in http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=1393 ?

Yes, I have tried both inputs for the HH controller as specified in the picture with the red arrows. I still get nothing...

How can you get anything if you don't know polarity and type of a controller(switch or variable) it is?

Your Roland FD-8 controller it should work, also the E-pro Pearl pedal ( but i'm not 100% sure)

Roland It uses a rectangular FSR resistor, so is variable continuos signal that MD can read.

The input jack is the first on top left, visible from back

download/file.php?id=2836

Try for factory defaults, boot MD with right button pressed or with AutoloadConf set to 'no'.

If you have multimeter , set around 100-200k oHm and test the TRS cable and your pedal by checking the resistance variations

So which controller are you using now? FD8? Just plug it into the HiHat controller jack, set the HiHat impedance switch to the Up position (low impedance), set AltIn to No. Press the pedal down, note what raw value the LCD shows for the pedal and set HiHat Low Level just above this value. Fully depress the pedal, note what raw value the LCD shows for the pedal and set HiHat High Level just below this value.
After that, if you use CC04 for pedal positions then set all HiHat pedal notes equal to the Notes of the HiHat cymbal and configure your soft synth to actually use the CC04 for positions.
If you don't use CC04 then set all HiHat pedal notes to the notes your soft synth uses for various HiHat positions except Open.

Forgive me for not understanding. I am using the Roland, or that is the one I would like to use since you guys know it will work. But where is this switch you refer to? I dont see any sort of switch on the HH controller, or are you referring to another switch? Like does the MDM have this switch that you refer to? Ill assuming the one other switch is for the HH controller?

Dmitri was referring to set the impedance on your MegaDrum module ( by setting the switch in UP position, you can find on the extreme right in your front Megadrum panel )
