Update: The good news is, I at least got it working. I can now press on the controller, hit the HH and sometimes ill get a reply. So I think its a matter of adjusting levels. Going back and looking at one of the earlier photos posted, do you recommend I adjust any of those? Again I am sorry this is very new to me!

Yes, of course you need to adjust at least Low and High Levels and set up Notes according to using or not using CC04.

Do you have any suggestions on how to go about that? How can I bypass using CC4? Sorry, this is very new to me

Download this .sys pedal configuration file, kindly shared by Angr77 in his blog, with the participation of differents MD users in the forum.

Download here FD-8 configuration here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ul8nmnrka1kdzu/FD-8.syx

-Open MegaDrumManager
-Plug in your FD8 and your HiHat to appropiate Jack inputs on Megadrum
-Connect your module to comunicate with your PC
-Go to " HiHat Pedal " tab
-Click " Load" and select the .Sys file that you just downloaded
-Click to " Send " (inside the HiHat Pedal tab)

Now the module have the right configuration for FD8, try to press your FD8 pedal and check how response.

I highly recommend to see:

Manual and instructions for set HiHat controller.

For list of preset shared by users

I suggest that way for you to save time, you seems to be very newbie about the functioning of MD.

Pay attention, the preset file that i shared can be a great starting point but not necessarily optimal for your drum setup

HH controller still behaves weirdly. The number on screen shows like 47 and when I step on pedal sometimes it goes up to like 150 not sure what that means. Im guessing maybe the controller needs to be replaced. I plan on getting Roland VH 12s soon anyway so we can just revisit the issue at that time. At least we know it works!
