Hey xarxi, thanks for your collaboration! I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work for me.

I actually bought another PIC18F2550 and a PIC programmer. I think my pic was not dead at all. I read it and it looked pretty identical to the output of the new programmed PIC. The problem is that not even the new PIC is working! When I plug the board to the usb port, the windows give me a "Unrecognized USB device" alert. A weird fact is that the LCD is not even powering up... it should, right?

I'm attaching the dump of the new programmed pic.

thanks!

Your dump is good for code but not for fuses.
Check your fuses ;)

Yes, it should. MegaDrum, including LCD, should work even without any USB MIDI I/O option.

Good news, guys! I actually bought a new PIC and a PIC programmer. But the problem wasn't there. I found out that I had accidentally programmed the ATmega with the wrong firmware. Once programmed with the right one, we were ready to go!

I tried with Sonar 7 + Addictive Drums. It's really cool to see it REALLY works. I still have minor problems to solve:

- The LCD is not working yet. It shows a few blocks in the display, but that's it. One thing that I noticed is that the LED is not turning on. But if you invert the cables from the pins 15 and 16 from de LCD it turns up. But I checked so many times and all the pins are correct....

- I have a HUGE delay, something like 0.8s. I'm using a 250V for the 470nF capacitor, so that might be the problem. Anyone who managed to successfully build a megadrum could please tell me which capacitor type is the best for this project?

Thanks!

What is your LCD ?
Could you give us the pinout of your LCD ?

I use a 470nF 63V. But It's not the problem.
Check your computer sound card drivers (like ASIO) ;)

The delay is not due to the capacitor. I'm pretty sure you are not using ASIO interface or your sound card is not ASIO capable at all.

I'm using ASIO... I'm pretty sure my soundcard supports it. Here is a screenshot of ASIO running

1. Did you configure Sonar to use ASIO?
2. Does your sound card have native ASIO support without ASIO4ALL?

Thoroughly check you LCD wiring.

Jonga lower the Asio Buffer Size to a reasonable level. It's the value that sets the latency. And dont forgot to choose asio4all within your host. These should solve your latency problem.
