Charly, can you please test this firmware:
megadrum_20130823.zip

I've added a new pedal parameter called ChickThrsh. As with ShrtChckTh LngChckTh it is measured against Pedal CC values so a value 127 corresponds to fully closed and a value 0 corresponds to fully open.

Hi!

Just for reference...are the configured pads in the MDS file the following?

TP120SD (1), TP100 (4), PCY150S (1), PCY130S (1), PCY130 (1), RHH130 (1) KP65 (1)

Best Regards

Excellent work !!! It works exactly as expected !

At the beggining, I almost came to say you "sorry but it didnt work", but I felt that something went wrong.
So I watched the Hats notes, and it has moved by one step. Let me explain :

Before : After
BowOpen= 81 BowOpen=83
EdgeOper=83 EdgeOpen=0
BellOpen=0 BellOpen=81
ect ....

I am not exactly sure now that this exemple match the real change, but you understand that inserting a new parameter has changed communication with MDM.
Whatever, I made the good settings back, and so I used ChickThreshold. Set to 110; now I get chick when I close pedal. And If I press more, I get my Thight Closed Sound.
Excellent !!!

Thanks Dmitri.

This new feature is not implemented in MDM yet so you have to set it manually via menu. Also, when you set ChickThrsh, ShrtChckTh and LngChckTh make sure that ChickThrsh is greater than ShrtChckTh, and ShrtChckTh is greater than LngChckTh

By greater, you mean a lower number, correct ?

I dont understand enough those parameters. What I know is when I set ShortChickTh (100)close to Chickth (110), it is easyer to get splashes. When I set LongChickTh too low (30), I cannot get high velocity chicks.

Greater means bigger/higher number.

This is expected behavior. The lower LongChickTh the harder it is to get high velocity chicks.

Yes greater, my mistake !

So I have ChickTrsh set to 110. ShortChickTrsh Should be somewhere between 70 & 108, and I can expect that if I press the pedal from this value, I will get a 64max velocity chick, right ?
And LongChickTrsh should be somewhere between 10 & 65. As well than Short, I can expect a 128max velocity if I press the pedal from this value, ?

If I understood right, the problem is about LongChick. If I set it to 50, I cannot get chicks with Higher velocity than 64. That is why I am sure that there's something I dont understand. Maybe it is linked to my hihat "technology".

Yesterday, I did look inside the pad, and it is a poor built thing. But it is also one of the first hihat that fits onto real hat stand, so ...

With your settings. If the initial position is between 110 and (70 & 108) you will not get chick at all. If the initial position is between (70 & 108) and (10 & 65) you will get a soft chick. If the initial position is between (10 & 65) and 0 you will get a hard chick.
