When you adjust your 20k pot, and leave it say, in the middle somewhere, you aren't having an issue with values changing. When I set mine to 50%, I do have changing values as tested prior. I also notice that there is midi activity on MD via the LED even though nothing is moving at all... is that normal?

I don't understand either, and that is why I am thinking there is something else within these hi hats that is wired differently than normal hi hat controllers. I could be wrong but I'm not positive how they work internally.

Please, do another test on the high and low impedance inputs with a resistor. I guess you use 10k resistor.

For both cases:
1. Set "All Gains Low" to Yes.
2. Set LevelsAuto to No
3. Set LowLevel to 11
4. Set HiLevel to 1023
5. Set CC RdcLvl to 0.

What are "raw level" readings between 100% and 0%?

When you do this test, can you measure voltage on the tip and on the ring at the same time as reading "raw level"?

If it is rock solid there should be no value changes and no MIDI activity and this is what I get with my mock device everywhere between 100% and 0%.

Once you finished the previous test, can I ask you to repeat it without a resistor and with ring desoldered/disconnected? In this case it should totally match my mock device.

with a 10k resistor
hi Imp
AltIn - yes
CC RdcLvl - 0
LevelsAuto - No
All Gains Low - Yes

LowLevel and HiLevel are at their absolute Low and Hi levels...

The "raw level" shows 1006 in the fully open position. It is steady.
80% - 694-699, bouncing randomly between the two.
60% - 657-652, bouncing randomly between the two.
40% - 641-646, bouncing randomly between the two.
20% - 625-629, bouncing randomly between the two.
0% (fully closed) 601-607 bouncing randomly between the two.
Applying pressure (practically standing on the pedal) I can reach 213-220, bouncing randomly between the two.
There is intermittent Midi activity via LED at all positions.

There is intermittent Midi activity via LED at all positions except when applying pressure.

Can I ask you:
1. To repeat the last test with "All Gains Low" set to No
2. To repeat http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... 637#p22637 and measuring voltage on the tip at the same time.

Do you want the ring reattached then?

This one without the ring -> 1. To repeat the last test with "All Gains Low" set to No
This one with the ring attached ->2. To repeat http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... 637#p22637 and measuring voltage on the tip at the same time.
