Pad error, midi note 45

Postby G-Man » Fri Feb 28, 2014 4:26 pm

Hi

What ever pad I hit I get note 45 as well. Is this a short? This happens even with just the piezo conected by itself to pin 15 + 16 earth (black wire) and any other pad number. On pad 2 connectors it only show 45, regardless of which one I connect my piezo to.

Any ideas?

There are 56 inputs in MegaDrum. It will take a while to guess on which input note 45 is configured.

Ok I have done some testing.

Note 45 was configured to tom2H which is pin 25. If I disable that input in MDM it goes away, but my superior drummer is still hitting that note no matter what pad I hit.

I looked at the board and I cannot see anything wrong there, the track looks good and the soldering is still fine.

I am going to rewire my whole kit and see if there is a wiring issue there as well.

Well, the board is now completely dead. I haven't done anything to it other than disconnect it from the pads earlier.

Some how I don't think I'll be getting any help on this...

Which components should I check to see why I am getting no power to the board? When I plug it in to the computer all of my usb ports stop working until I unplug it again from the computer, but no LED activity or anything on the megadrum. :(

I have a multimeter but no oscilloscope.

There could be many reasons, among them:

1. You connected power in reverse.
2. You made a short somewhere between ground and +5.
3. Because of 1) some components may got fried.

I think it is unlikely that I plugged the power the wrong way round because I am using a one way connector for power like those found on a floppy drive.

I think the short is related to the pin 25 issue somehow.

Found the issues. The board is fine, I had a faulty usb cable AND a faulty on off switch. I can't believe it.

Megadrum is working fine again. Still triggering note 45 but I have disabled it in mdm.
