Is it necessary to ground internal potentiometers?

Just double checking I wired that up properly. They function how they should, but sometimes I get a random spattering of hit detections with out hitting the pads. Wondering if they could be interfering with each other. Apologies for my negligence on not learning how to read wiring diagrams.
