what should i do ? hihat problems

Postby ddropski » Mon Sep 29, 2014 2:56 am

I am at the final stages of finishing my drum set up but I have 1 final hurdle My Hihat

no matter where I put it it cross triggers with something else
when I put it in port 25 it cross triggers my snare and flex 2 (cowbell) if I put it in port 15 it miss triggers my tom 3 ...ect ect..

I have taken the pedal out of the equasion I make all pedal notes 0 and disconnected it and changed the location of the pedal/hihat cymbal relationship different

my cymbal is a roland cy12

if I raise the threshold to the point of no misstriggers ..it looses all the playability ( meaning it will not pick up lesser hits) and it sucks the life out of the hihat..

as you can see from the pictures i hit the Flexi2(cowbell) a few times and it triggers C#3 hihat ... then i hit the snare a few times and it trggers C#3 hihat as well

what can I do ? i have opend it up (cy12) already to see if there was a bad wire or something ,,it all looked right

what causes miss triggering and why is it only the 1 cymbal that does it ... different piezos mabe? will changing then fix it?

any help anyone can offer i will appreciate im desperate .. i have come so far just to loose it at the hihat :(

since i cannot put all 3 (hihat..snare...flex2) pics up in 1 post ill do it in 3

thank you so much

IT seems like you have have set your hi hat on single piezo...but you have a cy-12 which have a piezo/switch implementation. So start by setting it to dual on the piezo for head/bow and then switch on the edge/rim.

I also see that the hihat pedal is appointing to input 54 for bow/edge...but your hihat remains on 46/47...

I made some corrections on the most obvious errors in the attached MDS file.. Have a try.

still mis triggering hihat_corr.zip

I must have bumped the single/3way

I have the pedal set like that so I can eliminate the pedal from the mistriggering problem ... it is looking for the pedal at 56 and my hihat is actually in 46 (just for trouble shooting )
once I get the cy12 to trigger properly I can add in the pedal

I changed it to a 3 way it didn't change anything it still mis triggers unless I put the threshold up very high

here is a new pic reflecting the changes
and I changed the config file too same name and same place as original post
is there something physical I can do perhaps(change the piezo... or something?)

added a pic of tom 2 also

Take the screenshot of the MIDI Log showing mistriggering.
