What are the best rubber/mesh/cymbal pads for MD?

What I mean is if someone just had the module and was going to buy pads based on the modules ability to use them as is and perform accurately (and no voltage divider). Which ones would you say?

I have Roland mesh pads but the random velocity issue has been so frustrating that Id go back to rubber pads and no PS if it would just trigger better.

I am using AD2 btw.

Thats the beauty of MD, it will take any pads. What's the random velocity thing about?

You should post a screenshot of your settings and a description of how you got to them. There's no reason why a mesh pad should not trigger properly with correct settings.

Indeed, post a screenshot. This is a regular pad and should be easy to configure.

Ok. Ill send a screen shot later when home. I got the settings myself from attempting to follow the mesh pad guide that I found somewhere.

I am used to the TD-30 and how well it picks of the subtle aspects of the PD-128 mesh pad.. So maybe I am expecting to much.. but doing snare rolls its a lot of TOO soft and TOO loud seemingly random.. or partially caused by the mesh pad issue of hitting the pad directly in the middle where the cone is..

is PS on a snare overrated? If I turned it off for AD2 would anyone really tell a difference in the end ? I assume the longer scan time to use PS is not a helpful thing

Besides taking settings screenshots you'd better describe the problem(s) in more detail.

For PS to work properly, the scan time must cover the whole first half wave and for bigger snares these half waves are longer.

When playing on your own, just listening to the drums, you can tell the difference; but if you're playing in a band with other musicians, I think it gets largely lost. It's a cool feature, but the difference is quite subtle.

I posted this image on the vdrums forum but I'll post it again here:

These are light > strong hits on a 10" mesh head (roland mesh) pad with a DIY cone. As you can see, there's no false triggering, no random velocity spikes and a smooth transition from velocities 1 to 126, hitting on, or around, the centre cone. I have a feeling that your random velocity issue has to do first and foremeost with an incorrect Highlevel setting, possibly worsened by other improvable settings.

What I noticed is the ps feature of MD depends mainly of VST. AD just can't bring all samples smooth in some sirius playing situations with groovy feel. I dont use PS, it's better for me to play with just open snare drum samples. Similar as ignotus, my snare drum does not have false or misstriggering signals, you can have fairly good triggering with this device.
I have made tests with/without ps and there is a difference, accenting with ps is very hard because you will have much ringing and singing in your snare (something is messedup with ps and AD) even in death center.
What cymbal pads to use? Some with well made egde switch, nice rubber for feel and look... every piece will work but for how long? what are your estetic preferences? Theres to much questions. My rulle is are they well constructed and how do they feel.
