ok, I have no idea what is happening here. Brand new cables, checked all piezo connections on the drums and everything is fine. Am I missing something here? Where am I going wrong?

Lets say I have plugged everything in for the first time. I have all my drums plugged in, nothing happening. Nothing on the VU meters on the MD unit, nothing. MDM manager picks up nothing on the MIDI log even after assigning a note to any of the inputs. Have everything plugged in as follows on a 56 input MD:

input 1: empty
input 2: hi hat controller
input 3: hi hats
input 4: snare
input 5: ride
input 6: floor tom 2
input 7: floor tom 1
input 8 rack tom 4
input 9: rack tom 3
input 10: rack tom 2
input 11: rack tom 1
input 12: cymbal 1
input 13: cymbal 2
input 14: left kick
input 15 right kick

I'm sorry, I'm not the best to help you, I'm also too new to this, but can you send a screen of your MDM? I think it could be either the cable that goes from the module to the pc, or it is not configured properly in the MDM options. It is very strange that no drums send signal.
I connect it by USB, but I have only snare connected at the moment, I attach the screen as I have the options in MDM in case it serves, I do not know if it will be well inclusive but it works for me at least, I suggest you wait for advice from Some of the most experienced guys in the forum.
Sorry for my english I use google translate

So you have your drums plugged in?

You have turned MD on?

Can you navigate the screen on the MD?

EDIT
Actually looking at yor list above it looks like you have everything plugged into the wrong sockets.

Are these drums mono or stereo?

One thing at a time please.
Plug one pad into a jack.
Tell which jack you plugged it into. Take a phot from behind the module showing where you plugged it into.
Describe the type of the pad.
Make a screenshot of settings of the inputs of the jack.
Describe the problem you have with this pad in this jack with the settings from the screenshot.

the MD is turned on, I am using MDM to navigate. These drums are all stereo except the bass drums, Quartz Percussion centre and rim piezos wired like Yamaha/Alesis.

I plugged the drums in that way because I want positional sensing on snare, ride, toms 3 and 4 and floor toms 1 and 2. What sockets should I plug everything into? I was under the impression that all sockets minus hi hat sockets and positional sensing sockets were equal. I just read your other response regarding hi hat controller and plugged it into one but not sure whether my controller is wired like Roland or reverse and requiring a crossover cable, I don't even know what a crossover cable is.

here are some pics. I would rather just start from scratch once everything is plugged in properly, so not screen shot for now.

ok, so I started with a fresh configuration, used config 2 since I haven't modified that one at all and I am getting signals from most of the pads. I figured it would be best to start fresh. I did what you asked, one pad at a time. I have one pad plugged in, snare into socket #4, pad has a centrally mounted piezo, positive to tip, rim mounted piezo positive to ring and both piezo's sharing a common ground to sleeve. Let's take it from here.
