Need Help

Postby DrumDoktor » Thu Jan 12, 2017 7:04 pm

Hi,
I am proud owner of a new megadrum Unit with 56 Inputs since end of Last year - but till that time I couldn't convince it to follow me!
First of all I have connected it with my Windows 10 notebook using the megadrum manager together with Addictive drums.
By luck I could reach to get drum sounds out of it - even without any life sign on addictive drums.
And these sound were coming in a strange sequence:
- input 1-4 nothing
- Input 5 ride 1
- input 6 Tom3
- input 7 Tom5
- input 8 Tom 2
- input 9 Tom 1
- input 10 crash
- input 11 ride 2
- input 12 snare
- input 13 hi hat
- input 14 kick
- input 15 hi hat controller

The bad thing is that all sounds were coming with a delay of approx. 0,5 secs.?
How can I reach to connect to addictive drums?
How can I reach to get rid of the delay?
How to get the inputs in my own order?
How to get friend with the system - since now no way?

Maybe lots of crazy questions- but hopefully someone can bring light into the dark.

Thanks and regards
Detlef

I think you've got the numbering of the inputs the wrong way around - if you reverse the numbering you've given to them, they are in the right sequence. I guess inputs 1-4 (probably actually 12-16) are the aux inputs and have their notes set to 0, hence why you hear nothing. Apart from the hi hat controller, which needs to be plugged into its assigned socket, you can plug the pads in whatever order you want and change the names in MDM to suit your preference - the module doesn't care if it's a tom, a crash or whatever plugged into a given input.

As for your other problems, you need to read up on how to use a VST host (a DAW or similar, google is your friend...) and how to tell it to pick up the MIDI messages sent from the module. Your latency problem has to do with drivers. Give ASIO4ALL a go, and if that doesn't give you better results you'll need a proper sound card.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.
