Do you want to test 40/48 inputs version?

Postby dmitri » Fri Jan 16, 2009 12:18 am

Here it is:)
megadrum40-48_test.zip

This is the schematic of the Analogue Board for 40/48 inputs:
analogue board48-sch.pdf

A few notes:
  • Atmega32 and Atmega324 are limited to only 40 inputs.
  • Atmega32 and Atmega324 are limited to only 1 Drum Map.
  • VU meters for inputs 33-48 are superimposed with VU meters for inputs 16-32 on the LCD.
  • I only tested it with a development board and not with my full drum kit.

Not yet.
I will make a small daughter board for the PCB v2.8 to use these new 16 inputs.

What about a 48 inputs standalone PCB?
The kicad files would be sufficient, for now :-)

I would also like to suggest to include, in a next version of the PCBs, the tracks/holes for soldering the MIDI IN/OUT connectors and also those for the power jack with automatic exclusion of the USB power. They are optional, but it would be nice to have the possibility to add them directly on the PCB.

I need to finish the PCB before testing ... one minute ;)

a few questions :

- what would be the theoretical input limit for an ATMega644
- could we have a 40 input board + a 24 input daughter board
or a 32 input board with 2 daughter boards (2 ext connectors ?)
- how does the config utility software handle megadrum with over 32 inputs?
