[Solved] Choke holds too long only in DAW

Hello all,

I have a lemon crash and I cannot get the proper setting to get choke working.
When I hit the edge with a stick with it works correct as an edge stick hit, but as soon as I touch the choke, it gets choked even if I release it. I think I have to stop hitting and touching the crash for at least 10 seconds for it to release choke.

I tried to tweak the settings but this problem persists even if I swap to the same model different pad. Both new. I am pretty sure I am missing something

It's a stand piezo bow/edge switch. I can get separate zones with no problem.

Would you help me if you can please?

Thanks in advance

What does MIDI Log show when you press and when you release the switch?

Then you have to look into what your drum synth/vst does with it.

It does not seem to been an VST/Synth issue, could take a look into the images above please?

MIDI Log shows that MegaDrum sends Afteroutch Off MIDI message after you release the switch. If it is not a VST/Synth issue, where do you suggest the issue is?

Btw, I see Aftertouch On/Off messages for Note 0. Is the 3rd zone Note set to 0? Set it equal to the Edge zone Note.
And Note 86 (86? hard to see in photo) - is it a Note for either Bow or Edge?

I just solved it, and of course it is not a problem from the Megadrum. In fact, the solution was possible only because of the versatility of the Megadrum.

The aftertouch message should be sent between the NoteON and NoteOff to be valid as a choke. As the drum modules handles notes differently than keyboard controllers, the NoteOff from drum modules are sent automatically instead of when you release the key in the piano controller. This make the aftertouch being sent after the NoteOff and consequently not catching up.

The solution was to increase the NoteOff Delay parameter in MISC menu in Megadrum (2000 in my case) in order to give more NoteOn time to match the choke aftertouch.

Problem Solved Thanks Dmitri
