when I connected MD led blinked once, but my lcd keeps showing suares on it. Nothing changes. In my MAC Utilites/Audio Midi Setup Megadrum recognized automatically.

Synthex tol me to unplug lcd keys and Atmega i did and Mac still recognize MD. I severally tried to update firmware but nothing changed.

And can you describe how you tried to update firmware?

when MD connected to MAc I opened megadrum config tool. I choose firmware update from firmware menu. I selected megadrum32_16_32_20090301.syx which i downloaded fromthe site.
A dialog appered to press left button then i pressed once to left , i didnt pressed up to leave it 16Mhx then I pressed down button once and cliecked yes icon . Waited a while it say it will restart (which my one never restared by itself automatically) then i unplugged MD and restart Config tool. Pluged MD again still Audio Midi Setup recognized my MD but on lcd there is nothing but squares.

Firmware update on Mac may have problems. Search the forum: http://www.megadrum.info/forums/search. ... mit=Search

I just realized and saw that in MCT Configure options icant see MD it say realtime sequencer. Is that mean MAc sees Md in only Audio midi setup. ?
I just tried something. In Logic pro/ prefrences/midi there is an option "reset midi devices" when i click it MD led blinked once its strange isnt it?

Very Strange Thing HAppened

I looked at your posts and find viewtopic.php?f=4&t=400&p=5959&hilit=firmware+update+mac#p5959
and update java with "http://www.humatic.de/htools/mmj.htm" . Both AudioMidi setup in Mac and MDCTool saw my MD and I updated firmware
suddenly led blinked I guess It made a restart then i realized that MDCTool "Hihhat Pedal" indicator moved to 114, all that before there werent a move there

My lcd still with nothing but squares

I forgot to tell before there is no piezo or hihat pedal connected to MD. (I dont know to connect a piezo to 32 input sokett)

Any idea?

Is it a soldering problem? if its, is it both lcd and 32 input socket soldering fault.

Regards

You can connect a piezo to 32 input socket, between GND (pin 1) and Kick (pin 5), for example.

It can be a soldering problem.
Check for short circuit around the LCD connector.

To enter MegaDrum bootloader you have to power it up while holding the key LEFT pressed. Once powered up, release the key.
When you enter MegaDrum bootloader, do you see anything on the LCD?

I currently have the same problem but I know it's because the last pin of my LCD is unsoldered. Make sure all the pins are ok!

You will have to download mmj to allow MCT to recognize your MD
download and install MMJ (v0_87 for future reference)
http://www.humatic.de/htools/mmj.htm

copy "mmj.jar" and "libmmj.jnilib" to your java extension folder:
/Library/Java/Extensions
Run Megadrum Config Tool again and from the option menu, select your MD as the "MIDI device Input and Output"

With that you should be able to update the firmware, which might solve your little squares problem!

Not true anymore! Every Mac user that installed mmj, succesfully updated the firmware. Actually, it's the one thing that works without any problem with MCT on Mac ! Setting the pads parameters is when the appplication becomes really frustrating! The firmware update problems are now for Linux user.
