Alright elrules, how soon will should we recieve the update once it's released, is it as soon as it's released or does it depend on java and whenever it decides(configured?) to recieve java updates?

It should update as soon as it is released. Sometimes (in weird cases) when an update is released you execute the program and it doesn't update, but if you close it and open again, the second time it updates.

Well this is strange then, I installed mct online using your install instructions and the last update v1.80 didn't auto update for some reason and this was 4-5 hours after it was released, I guess I'll have to wait and see if it auto updates with your next release or can I somehow roll the mct back to an earlier version to see if it will auto update? Thanks

MCT has been updated right now. The fixes are:
- updating with the last version of the bootloader should work (need someone to test)
- you can select custom curves when configuring a pad
- custom curves load with the same defaults as megadrum
- when you select to see a curve, the spinner values are updated (before they were not updated)

PD: sorry for lasting so much in uploading these fixes, but my family is visiting me and i am being a tourist guide full time ;)

MCT is my first Java-App.
I installed it on Linux and after installation finished, it asked if i want to run it - > it works.
But how can i start it now?
I have no idea where it installed itself and how i can find that out...

Just run the installer again. It will check for updates and then start.

It should install shortcuts in your desktop. If not, try running the command javaws. This is the Java app manager, and there you can select the application and right click it, to uninstall, create shorcuts, etc.

By the way, MCT has been updated to version 1.82:
The changes are:
- Added scrollbars to the main window. Users with small screen resolutions (800x600) will be able to see the whole MCT window if they maximize it, as the scrollbars will become usable.
- Maximized state of the application is saved among sessions.

The javaws command is cli only on linux. Running javaws by itself spits out this:
Code: Select all
Usage:   javaws [-run-options] <jnlp file>
         javaws [-control-options]

control-options:
  -about                Shows a sample application.
-viewer               Shows the trusted certificate viewer.

run-options:
-basedir dir          Directory where the cache is kept.
-arg arg              Adds an application argument before launching.
-param name=value     Adds an applet parameter before launching.
-property name=value  Sets a system property before launching.
-update seconds       Update check if seconds since last checked.
-license              Display the GPL license and exit.
  -verbose              Enable verbose output.
-nosecurity           Disables the secure runtime environment.
  -noupdate             Disables checking for updates.
-headless             Disables download window, other UIs.
-strict               Enables strict checking of JNLP file format.
-umask=value          Sets the umask for files created by an application.
-help                 Print this message and exit.

I run KDE. I am not sure the process for other environments, but I made a shortcut myself by right clicking on the desktop an making a "link to application". The working directory is where you put the install file and the command is "javaws install.jnlp". Took just a few seconds and works like a charm.

ALthough you have already fixed it, try executing
Code: Select all
javaws -viewer

It will show you the application manager I was talking about

The viewer show certificates, but I can't find where it lets you make shortcuts.

I also don't know why it is in there twice.
