For now, it will be on hold...

Sorry guys, but I am pretty busy these days. I will let you know if I start the development of the new version. I have just bought a Mac and I am trying to get used to it. Maybe it is not a bad idea to make a Cocoa based version of MCT. I am starting to love all this Mac related stuff :)

elrules made the source code public. Besides elrules, is anybody up for the task to contribute?

I'm trying to do a firmware update but I'm confused about which settings to choose.

In the MCT manual it says:
Make sure you select the one that suits your MCU and clock.

Where can I check what MCU & clock I have?

The firmware update is the only flaky thing in MCT. I suggest you to use this procedure to update the firmware: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=622
In the last PM I sent to you I mentioned that your MegaDrum uses Atmega644 at 20MHz.

If I understood correctly, MCT is the only way to update via USB - or otherwise I will have to try and build one of those LPT-ISP cables? Or is Atmega already programmed with a bootloader?

If I try updating with MCT via USB, can it do any harm to Megadrum if the firmware update goes wrong? I think at least I could try.

The LPT-ISP/bootloader programming had already been done before I sent the module to you.
You start from the part where it says:

Once you have the bootloader programmed follow this procedure:

1. Power MegaDrum up while holding the key LEFT pressed. If you connect over USB and it is the first time you connect your MegaDrum to your PC, let Windows install drivers.

Yes of course, sorry for the stupid question, don't know what I was thinking... Of course it had to be pre-programmed (how else could you have updated the firmware to the latest version?)

hmm.. might be time for you guys to get this thing ported over to wxWidgets so it works on all OS's. Where is this open source I hear about dmitri? I'll take a look at elrules work to see how easy we can get it converted.
