As far as I can see It now runs and looks alright on Linux. This is a screenshot after loading a config from MegaDrum:

A note though on the first run. It shows empty windows for "Select your hardware settings" and "Select which Megadrum to config" when run for the first time and sometimes when I access these settings later again:

Have you tried deleting the MegadrumConfigTool folder and starting all over again?

Quite strange... I will check the code, but I'm sure it it ok. Maybe some rendering issues of the Java virtual machine on linux. Who knows.. If everything works ok, those rendering issues are then a minor issue. Anyway I have modified the way those window dialogs place on screen, don't know if it was caused by the way it was before..

Of course the firmware update wasn't working for linux and mac (as it tries to load a windows dll file). I have now redone that piece of code so for windows users it uses the DLL and for the rest of the users it uses the default java midi implementation (so it is still to be tested on linux). Seems like in Mac even the MD setting messages are not sent. Hope kimouette can make some more tests

By the way, I am downloading the Mac Leopard 10.5.2 for intel computers to install it and make some tests.

Damn you Mac users!... why couldn't you just have bought an intel (win or linux) PC?!.... :)

You're right I didn't try that. I'll do some more tests tonight!

If I ever own a PC, It will probably take 1 week or less before I kill it with viruses! Not my fault!!
In the meantime, it's true, sometimes I suffer from not having a specific appplication, but until now I have always found solutions to these problems! If I dont manage to run MD with my computer, it will be the first time my old Mac gets beaten!

... The coolest of all is Linux anyway. Look at him :

I have seen that the app does not recognize well the megadrum midi device if it is connected after the app has started. Same happens if you have it connected to other software like Addictive drums or something else. The correct way to associate the program with megadrum is connecting it to the computer and then open the app. I supposse you already did that.

You can also test the new version of the plumstone library:
http://www.mandolane.co.uk/MandolaneMidi2_06_1.zip
It is shareware, but you can try it. Remember to delete the two files copied for the "mmj" library.

Ok so I tried all 3 Java solutions and each time reinstalled the Config Tool.
Plumstone, Mandolane and Mmj work just the same. None of them lets me send and receive any setting to and from MD.

Megadrum is recognized by my computer (see pictures above), it can send its signal, but at this point, there's just no way I can change its setting with the Config Tool.

Sorry for the stupid question, but are we 100% sure it's a Java problem?
I'll be waiting for just anymore test I could try!

OOh and I forgot to mention that Mandolane is not free. I get a message that could possibly mean that I am NOT supposed to be able to use it normally.

I read the txt file that comes with it, I dont think it should be working for me!!

It seems Megadrum Config Tool can now work both with Windows and Linux. I guess the problems with Mac OS X is due to the fact that it the most user friendly OS in the world:)
Don't get me wrong, most of the time I don't care which OS I'm working with - for years Mac Pro has been my main workstation in the office (G5 before and now a recent Intel Xeon), my main laptop is running Windows, my on call laptop is running Ubuntu, most of the time I deal with various Solaris, RedHat or CentOS based servers - but I still don't get all the fuss about Mac OS.

Have you tried the firmware update? That seems to be the only feature still to be tested in linux. It has been *well* enabled on my last last update so maybe it works maybe it doesn't.
