Basic Getting Started Questions w AD2 and MDM

Hi all,
I am quite new at this so I apologize in advance for the very basic questions. I purchased a pre-built 32 input Megadrum and am trying to figure out how to get started, configuring with AD2. I have read angr77's excellent guide and have tried reading through many posts on the forum (even though it may not seem that way!) but still can't quite get started.
I am just trying to set up pads for a bass and snare, I have mesh heads on both, a ddrum trigger on the bass drum and a quartz harness trigger on the snare.
I loaded up megadrum manager and managed to update the software. I am trying to just start with the bass drum. When I hit the drum, I see a response on the megadrum and I also see a response in the midi viewer (screenshots attached), although I don't get a response for the light hits. I loaded the advanced 32 input .mds file kindly posted by angr77 and then press 'send' under the pads button. I have the 'Use Same In/Out' box checked under options, and it is set to Megadrum USB Midi.
This will sound like a dumb question, but how do I get to hear the sound from AD2 when I hit the drum (i.e. how do I get MDM and AD2 to talk to each other)? I can't hear any sound when I hit the pad, and I know it should be obvious from the guide, but I am not getting it. Do I need a third software?
I am attaching the screenshots from MDM if it's helpful.
Thanks very much

Welcome
I'll leave the AD settings for someone else. In the mean time try this

Threshold and high level need to be set before anything else.

MDM doesn't talk to Addictive Drums - the module talks straight to AD (or the host it's in). In AD's host or if in standalone mode, there should be an option somewhere to set "midi in". Here is where you choose megadrum. Make sure you choose a different port to the one MDM is using if also open (MD makes 2 ports available), otherwise there will be a conflict.
And yeah, you need to look up how to properly configure a pad because with default settings the performace will be crap.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I was going to try to get the sounds going first before moving to pad configuration.

I'm not using a host with Addictive Drums 2. I couldn't find the "midi in" part of the program (I did read the tip before about making sure they are set to separate ports). Do you think it's better to use a host, and if I don't, is there anything else I need to set up for standalone mode to work? I won't be back in front of my machine until Sunday so I can't point out the Addictive drums screen I was looking at for the midi input right now, but I will try again then. Much appreciated.

In standalone mode, in the top left hand corner there's a button called "Audio & MIDI Setup". In there, there's an option to set the midi input, ASIO driver, etc. No particular reason to use a host unless you want to do DAW stuff.
