Megadrum 32 with latest firmware

Can I use the latest (20191110) firmware with an Atmega 644 32 channel Megadrum or do I need to go back to an older version

You can if your atmega has the protected bootloader. Otherwise you have to stick with the last unencrypted firmware from 2010 or thereabouts.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.
