Any suggestions for making a custom drum-rack?

Hi there everybody.
Few months ago, i started to build my own E-Drums. Everything is now fine and works so far.
My Megadrum module and the pads are working correct.
Tried to make a drum-rack with some pvc-pipes but i didn't came far.
They are way to unstable and before i spend a lot of money in something that doesn't work,
i ask you people.
Did anyone build his/her own rack?
What is the best material?

Any kind of suggestions will help.

BTW: The Snare and Kick doesn't need to be mounted on the rack.
List of Pads:
-5 Toms
-4 Crash
-1 China
-1 HiHat
-1 Ride
-2 Spash
-1 Cowbell

I hope i mentioned all Pads.
A Picture of a Pad is in the attachment and all Pads are the same(19x19 cm except for the Cowbell and Splash, they are a bit smaller)

My idea was some kind of u-rack. But how i said, doesn't work with the pvc pipes.

Thanks a lot!

Greetings
Massimo

Hi Massimo,
Look at this.. http://www.italentshare.com/forum/viewt ... p?f=16&t=4
I am currently doing something like this...
Looked at a whole bunch of sets on the web and then zeroed in on this. This looks quite stable and very do-able. Enjoy.

I know from experience that cutting those pvc Ts down the middle like that causes them to break while you are playing. Even with the hose clamps.

I used sch 40 1-1/4" pvc. I built the rack & adjusted everything to my liking. Initially, I cut a slit in the tees so I could adjust it easily. I Used stainless steel clamps to hold them together. After playing that setup for a while, one of the slit tees shattered on me, so I stopped slitting them. Once I got things where I was comfortable, I took it apart & primed & glued the joints together using unslit tees. I didn't glue joints that don't get stress so I can take it apart & move it. I've been playing it daily for over a year & it hasn't broken and it is not "unstable" (at least in my opinion. Everybody has their own preference... 8-) ). Pics of it are in megadrum gallery. http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=166&start=120
