hello.are any of those ic usable in the new schematic? http://www.tme.eu/ro/katalog/artykuly.p ... 3Dpic32mx4
and i tried to open the pic32drum digital board.sch with express pcb and it didn't work,it said it's not a valid file.

First of all it is not a new schematic. It is an experimental schematic, and as such I don't update firmware for it. You can use PIC32MX440F512H from any place where you can find it.

Maybe because it is in KiCad format?

Because:
1. It is in a SMD packaging - a big bump for an average DIYer.
2. It requires a special programmer - a big bump for an average DIYer.
3. It would require me to support an additional architecture so I'd have to do testing with each release on both architectures shuffling around a lot of cables each time I do this - a huge bump for me.

is there a reason why you wouldn't recomend this schematic?exect the need for a programer and the small pins?what are it's low points?
