Oh I see , you can hook it up either way.
Thanks , that answers my question.
I was just wondering because it said that it's the power for the pedal.
Better be safe than sorry , you know?

The new PCB looks good , I see the USB connector changed too.

Hope my board comes in the mail soon.

Hi Synthex and others,

I just browsed some online shops for the missing parts.. 'found mostly everything but I'm not 100% sure with some parts:
(see attached file, it includes some links)
list.zip

-In order to find the capacitor values you listed I had to mix three different types of capacitors - does that matter?
-The potentiometer is not meant to be used frequently, so a simple one (with screwdriver-operation) will do it, right?
-Would a 2x20 character display also be okay?
-I found two different kinds of crystals, one of them being much cheaper (see file). Will they work?
-I'm not sure what you mean by those HE-14 and HE-10 connectors. Is that some kind of multi lead cable (like an IDE-harddisk cable)? Could you please try to find some weblinks so I may gather more specifications on them?

Or are there any other mistakes in the list?

Thank you very very much,
beamtree

It doesn't matter. You can get electrolytic or tantal for 4.7uF and 1uF and (multilayer) ceramic for others.

Yes, of course. ;)

Beamtreetaker wrote:-Would a 2x20 character display also be okay?

Yes, it works, but a 2*16 will be more .. beautiful. ;)

HC-49/U series quartz crystal closure works very well.

Yes, they are like IDE-harddisk cable.

Question to both Synthex and Dmitri.

I have just built synthex all in one version (thanx) and I've connected it to my computer with no problems at all.
I have only a display and 1 piezo conntected.
If I hit very hard I noticed that the mux used sends midi on all 8 channels at once, kinda like an internal overflow in the mux.
I think that it shouldn't be that hard to filter out such occurrances in the firmware.
Did any of you notice the same problem?

Now I'm off to designing a pcb for att input connectors.
I'm thinking of using RCA and stereo 6.3 connectors.

It should not be happening. Check soldering, shortcuts, resit mux ICs.

I did all that before I wrote about it.
It responds exactly the same to all muxes exept the mux with hihat channels where only 7ch are affected.

And if you touch pins 1,2,4,5,12,13,14,15 on the muxes with a screwdriver or something metallic, do you see signal only on one channel or on all 8 channels?
