The update went smooth, but how do I modify hex ?

Hex editors should be able to do it.

I tried to edit the hex but I'm not sure I did it right.

I used Totaledit. http://www.codertools.com/download.aspx
Which hex editor do you recommend?

You can try this http://www.pspad.com/en/. It's a text editor with a built in hex capability (found it at http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46 ... lities.htm).

Is this what I should add in the beginning of the hex? F07F 400D 0A
And this added last in line: F7

then save as hex and rename afterwards to .syx?

If this is right, does this always apply to every future firmware?

The problem (if it's really a problem) is still occurring, but I did some tests in cubase and noticed that the megadrum has no problem reaching 127 in velocity without overflowing if I tap the piezo.
The overflow/overtriggering seems to occurr way over that value. I guess around 256 in velocity (fantasy number, I know).

I did a test edit of the firmware with totaledit.
I just want to know if it looks right. I'm not gonna use this file, and I'll advice everyone not to use it too.

If this looks right, the only thig left to do is to rename to .syx and upload with midiox right?

It can be called a problem or a feature depending on how you look a it. There are several factors which effect if "overspilling" occurs or it doesn't but it all comes to this: if the pad/piezo is too hot or not for MegaDrum. All my pads happened to be "cool":). In case pads are too hot for MegaDrum the only right way to eliminate an issue of "overspilling" is to use trim pots (it's up to you to put them in pads on in MegaDrum). If I keep trying doing it in firmware, even if the issue is eliminated (which I doubt since it is in fact an electrical issue), you will be loosing dynamic range with hot pads. And it appears to be a Sisyphean task to me.

It looks alright. Compare it with the sysex firmware I posted in here
