deleted firmware, and megadrum cannot connect to pc

Something is using these ports while you're trying to access them from MDM.
MDM is useless anyway with your outdated firmware version.

and how can i install a .bin firmware version using midi OX, which only uses .syx files? because if megadrum manager is unable to do it, due to old firmware, and megadrum config tool cant do it due to it not being able to handle new firmware, then what other program do i use to load the new firmware?

forgive me if i am missing something here but this information is seriously lacking in the forum, i have found absolutely no where that mentions that megadrum manager is incompatible with ANY versions of megadrum.

the latest firmware update post. but i realize now even the previous version is still the protected bootloader firmware.

is the megadrum manager only for the protected firmware versions? because if so that is annoying, the megadrum update tool will not work witht he latest versions, and the megadrum manager wont work with the old, non-protected firmware versions. so i am stuck in the middle of both extremes and no way to control my megadrum via my pc.

MegaDrum only requires a latest firmware version and it happened so that all latest versions are protected.

MegaDrum Config Tool will happily work with old (non-protected) firmware versions because it is old itself. I don't get how you are annoyed by the fact that MCT doesn't work with latest firmware versions if you don't have this latest firmware version but you are definitely stuck in some other place.

ok now something is really wrong.

As stated before i have pulled pin 26 to ground over a 47k resistor, and it worked fine for a while. Then the computer stopped recognizing it. Now i have replaced the pic18f chip and still can not recognise it. what is going on?

1. Your PC OS is mulfunctioning. Try another PC.
2. Your PC USB port is mulfunctioning. Try another PC.
3. You have a break/short on the board or bad soldering.
4. Faulty USB cable.
5. PIC18F2550 is mulfunctioning. Check that your PIC is loaded with correct firmware and the schematic matches the up-to-date schematic: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=266.
