I have a great respect for Dimitri, for his idea and continued excellence.
Also big thanks for Synthex for his contribution in AllInOne designs.

Thanks !! :)

shaman wrote:1) Could you please post a mirrored circuit (bottom) image for the newest one layer AllInOne 74HC4851/MAX4558 design?
I will need it for the tone transfer method of pcb etching.
Electronics is my hobby - I try to prepare everything on my own.
I have gathered almost all parts and prepared the connectors. Now I have to make the megadrum pcb and wait for the delivery of remaining parts.

Currently, the file in download is the version directly usable for a tone transfer method.

shaman wrote:2) Could you please do not abandon the development of one layered design presented in this topic?
Personally I think that this design is better than your new AllInOne because it has less elements for easier soldering and those elements are easier to obtain. Also one layer is much better for people who have the possibility to make megadrum at home.

The double layer design is better than the others. The components are best placed and lines of supplies and ground are better distributed, the kit is more stable.
The new design have no more elements, but just more features (ext alim, on board USB, ...). Soldering is easier and you can just solder that you need. ;)

OK then, where is the download? I have checked the first page of this thread and the pin layout on the bottom and top pdf's are the same (not mirrored).

Since I have ordered parts for this design (MAX4558) I would like to finish it anyway. Also two layers are much more difficult to do with tone transfer.
Could you give some examples of kit beeing unstable? What can happen, how often, and does the finished kit always has problems?
If mine will be unstable I will probably replace it with the two layer version.

I have noticed much more resistors and the board is about twice as big. Bigger board = more spots to make errors.

You need a not mirrored for the tone transfer method of pcb etching.

There is no problem with this kit, but the newer kit is less sensitive to noise and parasites.

There is no more resistors, and the new board is 145mm*70mm, the older board is 140mm*70mm, it is practically the same thing ...

OK. I believe that you have much more experience in designing pcbs.
Anyway I am still into doing one layer kit since is easier to etch at home.

Obviously we are talking about different designs. I meant this one:

No, I need a mirrored image. On the attachment you can see the printout on the left and a copper board with toner transfered to it. It is mirrored.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

This design is obsolete and you talk about the newest one layer AllInOne 74HC4851/MAX4558 ... I do not understand ...

No, you need a not mirrored image. ;)
The file available in download is good !!

Excuse me for the missunderstanding. Now I know what you ment in the link I have posted. You have written there "This design is deprecated" and then you put the link to this topic, so I thought that this topic is deprecated. Hope that is clear now :-)

Ok, I have checked the kits you offer:
http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=108
and you are right, i do not need a mirrored image.
My mistake, sorry for inconvenience.

By the way, is the two layer design available for the public? I would like to see if it was possible to etch at home. How many through-hole connections does it have?

I think that this double-layer version is not too much to be done at home, but It may be made available for the public later.
I spent a lot of time and a lot of money on this design to provide you the best.
I built with my own money all PCB, and I just want to go into my expense ...

Hi Synthex, I want to ask you a favour.

With the extra components I have I want to try to build this allinone kit myself as a secondary kit (I still want one of those new AllInOne kits, so keep one for me).

Could you post a bottom-side PDF file of this 2.3 version, but with margins, so I can place 4 holes to screw it to the box (as the all in one kit to sell)?

I know I can cut the virgin PCB to have margins, but it would be nicer not to have to etch those margins, do you know what I mean?

Thanks

Ok, I will post the bottom-side PDF file of the 2.4 version (2.3 version + 4 holes).
