After your bold groundless statements I have no desire to send you anything.

P.S. Everybody else can see right on the first page of this subforum where to request an Atmega chip. Don't see why you have to be specially treated.

Dear Dmitri,

I have a few questions after several hours of intensive study on this fantastic forum and site.

1. To save costs wouldn't it be an idea that I purchase, let say 3 or 4 extra programmed MCU's for the dutch and belgiums (and maybe a few germans). I make sure you keep up with my stock by informing how many were exchanged or sold. If I'm out of stock I send you the old ones and buy some new from you. I'm also willing to help people out with the exchange for free (no labor costs), for those who don't dare to exchange it themselves and/or soldered the MCU's.
The only problem is maybe the hardware type that can differ, or not?

2. I'd like to build one together with my son (DIY incl. PCB and soldering). We would like to have a 56 version but see only the PCB's for 32. 32 will have to do than. But, I tried to order at the Farnell site, this is impossible because they redirect me to the dutch site, I have to order in Holland. There I discovered 2 other problems, I have to be a company, and the prices are almost twice as high. So I wondered if I can purchase a parts package from you including a programmed (so maybe some extra) MCUs (minimum order quantity would be no problem, I understand)? Excluding the Controls, LCD, Enclosure, PCB and input jacks, those I want to purchase myself.

So you next thought was if you could provide a complete (DIY-set) next to the kits, I'm sure no one bother some extra costs for handling and so on, we'd be sure to get the right parts;
- maybe it would be possible for you to get discounts?
- We DIY people save shipping costs due to the fact that we order a programmed MCU from you and don't have to pay shipping costs for other parts ordered somewhere else.

with kind regards to you and all the people who contributed to make this the succes it is.

Have a look at bitsbox.co.uk. It's based in the UK but components are cheap enough and delivery to Europe is about €3.5. They also have pic microcontrollers, I think the one they have, a PIC18F2455-I/SP, can be used for the MIDI-USB part as well.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Sorry, but for Atmegas with the pre-programmed protected bootlader there is a limit - to one address I send 2 MCUs max.

Sorry again, but on it's own I can send only Atmega644. All other parts you'll have to source yourself. For the 56 inputs PCB see http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=1623

There are already 6 options:
1) - Do it all yourself using a pre-programmed Atmega644 from me. A very cheap option but it does require some (a lot?) DIY skills.
2,3 and 4) - 3 different kits. Require just a bit DIY skills.
5 and 6) - 2 fully built modules (32 and 56 inputs modules in two different cases) which require no DIY skills.
I just don't have time to offer any other options and from my point of view the available options are just enough.

+ Handling and shipping to the Netherlands £10.00 = £23.97.
+ PayPal tax 5% £1.20 = £25.17

Please PM me your paypal account where you are okay with this.

I will have a look, I think that the current exchange rate between our currency (that we could note vote against (European democracies ;) )) and UK pound has something to do with the price differences.

Due to the fact that it's almost impossible to order a few (less than 1000 pcs) "through hole" 4851 mux, I ordered SN74HC4851DG4 (Texas Instruments) from rs-online (10pcs min. order qty). Also in this case I had to be a business or place an order with a minimum order amount of 50 euro's. But shipping costs for free.
I had to order some "soic16 to dip16 adapters" (on eBay) in order not to change the PCB design of Dimitri. If someone else want's to do the same in the future check that the boundaries of adapter form no problems for other parts.

And Dmitri, thanks for you prompt response and the fast shipment of the Atmega644. You amaze me, and can't figure out how you do it. ;)
