Firmware update in MDM fails

Okay guys I'm having difficulties achieving anything with my megadrum. I know its a great device that loads of people have had success with. I am not completely useless in the world of tech and software, but for whatever reason this software is not clicking with me and I am having great difficulties with it. This thread will just be a conglomeration of every problem. Firstly, I am having problems updating the firmware, so lets start there. I downloaded the latest update and followed the directions, yet it just tells me "megadrum is not responding" in the megadrum manager updater. What am I doing wrong?

First of all, for the MegaDrum community sake, please don't throw all problems, issues, questions and etc into one topic - use one topic per each (this is why I re-named this topic title).

If the firmware update in MDM fails (it works for some but fails for others) then use viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1252 - it always works. By the way, it is a "sticky" so it is always one of the first topics in this forum when you browse it.

Before going forward I think I should mention im on Windows 8.1 64bit. I don't know if that is important.
When I hold the left button and then power on, it just boots normally. I tried the right button and it says "FWSUpdaterSTM32b StartUpdateOnPC"

Disregard that, I figured it out.
