Alesis DMPro module and some megadrum feature

I use addictive drums in linux (mint) and it works great; it has never crashed on me. I use it as standalone with dssi-vst, wine-rt, jack (kxstudio ppa repos) and a lowlatency kernel. Haven't tried AD2 but the old version is rock-solid.

Took a look to 2box. Gorgeous solution (yes, I like orange) and impressive features, but it's pretty out of budget, ATM.

Anyway, I think I discovered something interesting and I have a strategy to build a kit with three chokeable cymbals, even if this will mean having to mangle a lot with that darn thing. I think I'll experiment using the DM5 additional inputs and if all goes well I'll go for a MD.

Great info. If AD (maybe also AD2) works on Linux I'll be in for a lot of recording goodness...
And it can become a cheap and effective solution if Alesis ends up driving me mad.
