Problems with saving settings ("Save To Slot")

Postby Stefan » Sun Jan 11, 2015 12:30 pm

Hello,

I have problems to save the settings on the MegaDrum.

Problem 1:
While tweaking the settings I press always "Send" or even "SendAll".
When I am finished I press "Save To Slot" and select 1. (And I "Save All" to a backup file.)
Now the first problem appears. MegaDrumsManager seems to finish the saving (the status bar is progressing to 100%).
But now it doesn't get any MIDI information from my interface. I appears that it's kind of frozen? (The SysEx is green and OK)
I need to load from different slots here and there to get it back working...

Problem 2:
I start MegaDrum and with the toggle weals I go to "CurrentConfig" and it says "8".
I open MegaDrumManager and press "Get All". Now the setting that I did in the last session seem to be totally destroyed. I cannot believe that I ever saved those settings to slot 8. (see picture, everything is red)
Even though in the last session I pressed "Save To Slot=1" in MDM it starts up with CurrentConfig=8 and the settings seem to be totally a mess.
Now I have to "Load All" from my backup file and "Send All" to the MegaDrum. Then it's working again.

But of course I would like MegaDrum to start up with CurrentConfig=1 and all the good settings that I stored there.

Do I make something wrong here?

Thanks and best regards
Stefan

I'm looking into it. Meantime, try to set MaxInputs manually in the Menu.

Can you please test it with this firmware version?

Thanks dmitri, now it works! :)

And the ConfigName can be saved now too. Great!

By the way, for what reason do I have to open the "Main-Options" menu on every MDM start? I never really make a change to the options, just opening and closing...

Have a nice day,
Stefan

You don't have to do it. Why do you do it every time? Did you set 'Save Options on Exit' in Menu->Options?

Dmitri, can it be that there is also an improvement on the pad connector "RideE"?
Before the fw-update i needed to put a threshold of >28 to get rid of permanent triggers.

After the fw-update I can set it down to even 22!
Is this possible?

Whenever I open up the MDM there is an instruction window (see below). If I don't go to "Options" at first the MDM is not getting SysEx OK.

I doubt that. Placebo effect maybe?

Yes, and now it works. :)
But now I recognized that it seems to make a difference whether I close MDM via Main-Exit or via Quit Main Windows (under Mac OS X)?
1. Main-Exit: it works
2. Quit Main Window: when I close and re-open MDM this setting is lost.

Is this normal?
