MegaDrum Lite kit for sale

Postby dmitri » Sun Dec 14, 2014 6:11 pm

Here I offer 2 options for those who don't need all 56 inputs of the Full MegaDrum kit but still want to build a fully featured MegaDrum device with the latest ARM STM32F205RCT6 MCU running at 120MHz.

MegaDrum Lite kit differs from the MegaDrum Full/Basic/Minimal kits in a few ways:
1. MegaDrum Lite kit is limited to 24 inputs.
2. Standard MIDI ports are excluded so it can be used only via USB (USB MIDI).
3. Rotary encoders are not supported.
4. The main board is smaller - 50x50mm.
5. Of course it's cheaper.

Apart from the above listed differences, MegaDrum Lite kit supports all other features of the MegaDrum kits/modules.

The two MegaDrum Lite kit options are "Standard Lite kit" and "Minimal Lite kit"

1. Standard Lite kit which includes:
  • a fully soldered MegaDrum Lite main board with ARM STM32F205RCT6 at 120MHz programmed with the protected bootloader and 256Kbit extended EEPROM.
  • 16x2 LCD with a soldered cable and a board connector.
  • USB socket with a soldered cable and a board connector.
  • Mini power switch with a soldered cable and a board connector.
  • MIDI activity LED with a soldered cable and a board connector.
  • One IDC 2x20 male connector.
  • 4 buttons, 2 1n4148 diodes, 4way flat cable and 4way connector.

2. Minimal kit which includes only one item:
  • a fully soldered MegaDrum Lite main board with ARM STM32F205RCT6 at 120MHz programmed with the protected bootloader and 256Kbit extended EEPROM.

Kits prices:
  • Standard Lite kit - 85GBP (British pounds) plus postage
  • Minimal Lite kit - 75GBP plus postage

With an optional Positional Sensing addon board included it will cost 25GBP more. See http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=2052 for details about the Positional Sensing addon board.

Insured postage for the Standard Lite kit:
    • to UK - 6GBP
    • to EU - 14GBP
    • to US and everywhere else - 16GBP

Insured postage for the Minimal Lite kit:
    • to UK - 5GBP
    • to EU - 10GBP
    • to US and everywhere else - 12GBP

For warranty conditions see http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=1669

It takes me a couple of days to solder and send a kit.

It's firmware can be upgraded the same way as all other's MegaDrum kits/modules - via MDM or using procedure from viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1252

Dmitri,

Is it possible to add a midi out to the Lite kit?

I plan on midi merging 4 controllers together (Megadrum module, mallet controller, Alesis multipad, and foot controller/cc pedals) to go into my computer.

thanks,
Glenn

No. It can only do 'USB MIDI'.

Greetings!
I was checking manuals but i still kind of confused with the inputs.
I saw 11 inputs that works double, (considering pin 13 and 14)being this, there are 22 plus 1 for kick and 2 for high/ low impedance pedals. So there are 25 inputs or im i doing something wrong?
Thanks for your work Dimitri.

You can use only the low or only the high impedance HiHat pedal input at any given time so both inputs count as one and the total is 24.

Hello Dimitri,
thats the logic evolution for your project. Great!
Since MDM works perfect I never touched the rotary switchs anymore since more than 1 year!
When you increase the 24 to 32 (utilise the complete flatcable) the Kit is perfect for me!

It will not increase above 24.
