press rolls and positional sensing

Postby VipeR » Fri Apr 03, 2015 9:06 am

Hi Guys,

I'v got positional sensing working for single strokes. The sound difference in SD2 is quite obvious. But, if I start a pressroll near the edge, and move my sticks to the center, while keeping the roll going, I keep hearing the "near edge" sound.

Am I doing something wrong here? or is this a knack in positional sensing?

Hi!

It could be just anything...do you feel that the PS value is moving if you consult your MDs display and the when setting the PS settings for your actual drum? Do the cursor indicating where you hit and do follow in a good way when doing the rolls. If not...then you need to optimize you settings even more.

Another thing is your minscan settings for the actual drum...I would claim that you need to raise the minscan above 50-60 to get the PS function to operate in a right mannor.

But as said...a bit difficult to just guess...please upload your settings for the snare and we will have a look.

Best regards

If the next hit is within Note Off delay then MegaDrum uses PS value from the previous hit. I suggest you to try to decrease the Note Off value.

Thanks guys,

I had to do both adjustments, to get the desired effect. I'm not quite there yet, but i'm looking in the right direction now.
