Is it safe for me to flash to that test firmware too? Nevermind, I see it's official firmware.

I'm also having this problem.

My MCU is: STM32F103RCT6

I can't save more than 1 config in a slot; Saving to slot 1 = slot 2 data is erased. Saving to slot 2 = slot 1 data is erased.

Furthermore, just typing something into "Config Name" updates the slot name in "Load from Slot" without me sending a new save or anything, which suggests to me, the "Load from Slot" menu isn't reading / fetching from Megadrum's memory when you open it, but rather syncing with whatever MDM has in that "Config Name" field.

Hi Dmitri,

I tried to get the Megadrum working now for at least 10 hours. I got all my drums and cymbals working (same performance or better than on my Roland TD-6V - so far good news :) ). But I wasn't able to save my settings to rom for hours - I encountered SysEx Timeouts after 93% all the time when using "send all" and "save to slot" with MDM.
When I tried to "save to slot" in MDM and using custom names Megadrum freezes (red led is shining - no more reaction). I tried to save with the Megadrum itself - also a freeze follows - after a few minutes I was able to use the module again - but my settings disappeared. Luckily also the custom names for my inputs were gone. After that I was able to "send all" and "save to slot" with MDM without SysEx Timeouts. Strange... Maybe a bug?
In the custom names I used "-", letters and numbers (For example: PD-85-1 and PD-85-1E). I tried it also without "-" and had no luck.

Are there any reasons know for Sysex Timeouts?

Regards
Thomas

So this is what I am did before (maybe helpfull for someone):

Start Megadrum
Load my mds-file
After that I tried to "send all" - but MDM stops at 93% with a SysEx Timeout everytime (I tried a Win 8.1 and a Win 7 PC) and Megadrum freezes
So I sent all inputs individually - this worked but had to be done every time I restarted Megadrum.

"get all" is working every time I used it.

I wanted to save a new config in slot 2 - no SysEx Timeout but Megadrum is unresponsive again. Red LED is shining. Now i will wait a few minutes if it's going to repair itself...

P.S. Megadrum got responsive after a few minutes again. I shut down Megadrum after that and switch it on again. Sadly it loaded config 1. Trying to load config 2 at the device failed. (Megadrum said: Failed)

any ideas?

I just run the test but could not reproduce it. I pulled a config from MegaDrum, made a config change in MDM, then did 'Save to Slot 2' with no problems. MegaDrum was showing 'CurrentConfig 2' in the Menu after that and loads it on boot.
'Save to Slot' should not take more than around 10 seconds.

1. What OS are you using?
2. Can you make a short video showing the problem starting with 'GetAll"? I just want to see what you do and what MDM shows when you do that.
3. Post the MDM config (zip it before posting it in the forum) and I will try to reproduce the problem.

Hi Dmitri,

I am using Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit - I had the same issue with my laptop with Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

I will sent you a pm with a link to the videos in a second. It's quiet funny, I tried to redo the video and (i tried saving to slot 2 nearly 50 times today) it worked in the second try.
So I now have a working config 2 - BUT than I tried change the highlevel of the hihat-pedal to 310 and x-talk-values from the cymbals, sent the values to Megadrum and the following "save to slot 2" didn't work again.

I also have an non working positional sensing on the snare - I made a video of this too. The indicator stay at the rim-position (right) most of the time - only randomly some other values are produced. I searched the forum and your website but found no idea...

I added the mds-file.

thank you for your help

regards

T.

For the quickest way to fix the the problem, I need step-by-step description for me to re-produce it.

What kind of a snare you have? How were you configuring positional sensing? Did you read viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2052 for advice?

I added the mds-file.

I'll try to reproduce it with the file.
