Dmitri is there any way a larger screen could be used say 7 or 9 inch?. Would it need its own power supply?

If it talks the same protocol as ILI9340/ILI9341 then it should work fine.
In terms of power consumption - as long as it doesn't draw more then ~0.4A it will work. More important, it must not create noise on the power line - I had a couple of LCD models which created noise on the power line and as a result high noise on the inputs.

Of course to increase the screen size you would have to change the on board graphic chip which would require a whole new pcb, or change the way megadrum communicates with a more sophisticated in screen graphics chip either way a major investment in time and money.

Dmitri do you think this is possible? (quote from a arduino forum)

q. Is it possible to connect more than one TFT screen

a. Yes, you can. All the SPI pins (MISO, MOSI and SCK) are all shared between the panels. You can even share the D/C and RST signals. The only signal that needs to be separate is the CS pin since this is the pin that identifies which panel is actively receiving commands and data at any one time. Also you don't need to connect up the MISO pin at all, since that is only connected to the SD card slot, not the TFT screen.

just a thought
