Is there instructions how to upgrade and install the USB/MIDI firmware?

https://www.megadrum.info/downloads.php

I have tried to get it working with 4 different mac's, but no luck. I only get it to work in MDM FX on Win 7 using a Roland UM-ONE midi interface... But the USB interface is working just fine sending midi in to Logic on the mac.

I tested Atmega644 with latest firmware and MDMFX on Mac and it works fine.

Dmitri, do you have any instructions regarding how to install/upgrade the USB/MIDI firmware from the link below?

Dmitri, could I just buy a programmed pic with the latest USB firmware from you?

Sorry but I don't do (and I've never offered) PICs.

Ok.

I just want to verify that I understand this thing about USB Speed and the USB speed settings in the MD configuration meny...

My MD is about 10 years old and the PIC therefore has an older firmware. So if I want to use USB speed 1, 2 or 3, I need a PIC loaded with the latest PIC USB firmware?

Is it possible to erase and reuse the PIC18f2550 that I have sitting in my MD right now?

I have a 12Mhz crystal clocking the pic, is it possible to use that crystal with the latest USB firmware running "USB speed 3"?

And, will any PIC-programmer do the job? This one for example?

1. Yes, you have to have a PIC with support for higher speed over USB.
2. Yes, you can erase and reprogram your PIC.
3. Yes, you can use a 12MHz crystal with your PIC for higher speeds.
4. The programmer lists PIC18f2550 as supported. I guess it means you can use it.
