Roland vs Yamaha 3-Zone

I'm aware of the differences between the Roland and Yamaha 3-zone cymbal circuits. What I want to know is if there is any advantage to using the Roland scheme, assuming that you are building a system from scratch.

I know that Yamaha lets you use a single cable, but is there anything I've missed about the Roland method that offers any advantage whatsoever over the Yamaha?
