3 zone cymbal support, Yamaha style. How many of you need it

3 zone cymbals, Yamaha style. Do you want me to add support for them in MegaDrum?

I have both MegaDrum and Yamaha cymbals, please do it.

I have Yamaha cymbal. Lack of Yamaha 3 zone cymbals support is a showstopper for building MegaDrum.

I have MegaDrum. If you do it, I'll buy 3 zone cymbals Yamaha style.

I have MegaDrum. I'll live happily without support for such cymbals.

If you do it, I will rebuild all my DIY cymbals to have the Yamaha 3zone design.

I have neither of them, only 2 (3 at most) persons have MegaDrum, your poll is stupid.

I will work on it once I converted one of my cymbals to 3 zone Yamaha style.

Finally I have been able to find the Yamaha pcy150s circuit diagram.

Hope it helps:

As it seems it also has a pot to control the sensitivity of the piezo

PD: Have you seen the 0.1uF capacitor? What is it for? Do you thing that capacitor can help stabilize the signal of the piezo? I ask that because maybe it can be applied to all the other pads, isn`t it?

I doubt that the capacitor has any useful role

So, a (simpler) construction like this would be working, too?

I either case the electrical part is very simple, it's the mechanical part that is a bit sophisticated for an average DIYer.

Yeah that's true. =) Btw, I did spend some hours yesterday on a DIY cymbal switch construction and it turned out to work very well (at least my multimeter says so). 'Will release a small tutorial at the weekend when I'll build a 2nd one.
I still lack good ideas concerning a good bell switch construction...

Easiest DIY membrane-type switch is this: http://www.hellfiredrums.com/archives/147 It's been reported you can use it on the top surface of the cymbal as well. For the bell you'd have to make 2 smaller switches, probably small circles, to hug the curve of the bell without the switch itself touching. Though I've only seen people using these for the edge triggering and chokes.
